Iron – Iron Complex – 100 tablets – Now is a food supplement with iron, vitamin C, folate and vitamin B12, in a formula that also includes plant extracts. In general, these nutrients take part in functions related to normal blood formation and energy metabolism. In addition, the presence of vitamin C helps the body use iron.

Therefore, it may be considered in situations where the aim is to reinforce the intake of iron and nutrients involved in the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin. Additionally, iron takes part in the normal transport of oxygen in the body and contributes to energy-yielding metabolism. On the other hand, folate and vitamin B12 contribute to normal blood formation and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, within the scope of authorised nutritional claims.

However, in case of suspected iron deficiency, clinical and analytical assessment is recommended. In this way, inappropriate supplementation is avoided.

Composition or Main Characteristics

Each tablet of Iron – Iron Complex – 100 tablets – Now provides a combination of minerals, vitamins and plants. In addition, it includes iron in the form of ferrous bisglycinate (Ferrochel®).

• Iron (as Ferrochel® – ferrous bisglycinate): 27 mg (193% NRV)
• Vitamin C (ascorbic acid): 50 mg (63% NRV)
• Folate: 333 mcg DFE (equivalent to 200 mcg of folic acid) (100% NRV)
• Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin): 50 mcg (2000% NRV)
• Raspberry (leaf): 100 mg
• Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis): 100 mg

Likewise, the formula does not include wheat, gluten, fish, shellfish or sesame. In addition, it is free from milk, egg, nuts and soy, according to the manufacturer’s information.

Directions for use

Take 1 tablet per day, with a meal, with water. However, do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Therefore, if you are using other supplements with iron, confirm your total daily intake.
